What to see

The museum is divided into different sections or exhibitions, corresponding to three different ways of discovering mathematics.
  1. Beyond compasses: the geometry of curves
that aims to reveal the mathematics concealed within various commonly used objects. The exhibition, which has been shown in several cities, receiving more than half a million visitors, and is now displayed in a new setting, is completely interactive. It can be appreciated at various levels of complexity, from that of primary school children up to university students and the general public.
  2. Pythagoras and his theorem is centred on play. Through exploring a series of puzzles, visitors will discover the various facets of what may be the best known mathematical theorem of all.
  3. A bridge over the Mediterranean
an historical exhibition that describes the life and times of Leonardo Fibonacci and his Liber Abaci and illustrates the passage of mathematics from the Islamic world to Medieval Europe.
  4. Helping Nature: from Galileo's Mechanics to everyday life
An interactive exhibition in which the visitor, following Galileo's mathematical approach, discovers how the simple machines work
    - on the web (italian only)
    -
    some english texts
